Douglas is a graduate of Drexel University and was employed by Deloitte, one of the top four accounting and business consulting firms in the U.S., before starting his own accounting practice in 1973. Douglas’ private practice of 40+ years has attracted many affluent individuals and businesses seeking his expertise in taxation and other financial matters all over the world. In 2014, Douglas started a non-profit organization, Institute for Enterprise, Inc., to help young entrepreneurs achieve their goals.
Douglas served as an officer in the U.S. Army and received many medals and commendations for service to his country. While he grew up in Bucks County, PA, he moved to Amelia Island with his wife and daughter in 2004. In 2018, the family moved to the upstate area of SC, after falling in love with a modern version of a farmhouse that reminded him of the area where he grew up as a child.
In his spare time Douglas enjoys playing a round of golf, relaxing while reading a good book, or playing with his two high energy dogs, Emma and Tucker. He also enjoys taking care of his chickens on his "farm" and walking the fields behind his house.
